Homemade Creamy Alfredo Sauce (WITH NO HEAVY CREAM!!)
Makes 6 servings | total time: about 12 minutes
What you'll need:
1/2 C butter
1 (8oz) package cream cheese (This is the MAGIC ingredient to the creaminess!)
2 tsp garlic powder
2 C milk
6 oz grated parmesan cheese
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
a little bit of parsley (everything looks better with parsley!) (even parsley flakes will work!)
What you'll do:
Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add cream cheese and garlic powder, stirring with wire whisk until smooth. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps. Stir in Parmesan and pepper. Remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency. Add parsley. Stir. Sauce will thicken rapidly, thin with milk if cooked too long. Toss with hot pasta and chicken to serve. ENJOY!!
So.. I'm pretty lazy and we ate this on paper plates, so I didn't take a picture of my own. Thank you for the picture from:
