Project:
Summer Monogram Wreath
Super Easy! Craft time: About 10-25 minutes (depending on if you have to paint the monogram letter.)
What you'll need:
1 Natural Grapevine Wreath (similar at JoAnn craft store: click here)
any floral decor (similar to mine: click here)
(I made my large flower of of jersey-knit material. tutorial soon to come. But any soft floral decor will work for the large flower appliqué)
wire cutters to cut floral decor
wooden monogram letter
fishing line or clear sturdy thread (similar here) to attach letter to wreath
acrylic paint
paint brush
about 3/4 of a yard of 1.5'' houndstooth ribbon (depending on how large you would like the bow) (similar here)
hot glue gun / hot glue sticks
What you'll do:
Pain the letter and let it dry if it is not already pre-painted.
Stick the floral decor into the wreath and glue in place. Using the wire cutters, cut any excess floral decor. Tie the ribbon into a bow. Fold the ends of the ribbon in half and cut a diagonal out of the ribbon to create a V when it is open. Hot glue the bow to the wreath.
Thread fishing line into a needle. Stitch through the fabric/soft floral decor and around the letter. Tie off. Using another piece of fishing line, tie it into a large circle. A little smaller than a paper plate. (Depending on the size of your wreath and letter.) Loop it through the letter. (If your letter does not have a counter..then hmm I don't know, put some saw tooth hooks or some sort of hooks onto your letter.) Then loop it through the wreath. Hang on a door. Enjoy!
