Week 16 :: Halloween Project

Project:

For our Project this week we planned a Halloween party and planned out our costumes! I seriously love Halloween, I'm pretty sure it is my favorite holiday, and I'm glad my husband is a big supporter. :] With that being said, for our costumes we were Barbie and Ken from Toy Story 3! My husband is such a good sport. So we took a trip to the thrift store in town and whipped some stuff up!

1. Khaki pants  [$4] (Cut off at the knee and I sewed a hem. Then we died them with Ritz powdered dye. [$2]. I will have to do some tests with the dye because they turned out kind of grey, but it worked out!)
2. Pink ascot ($0.50) (found it like that! It was perfect)
3. Belt ($2) (spray painted it yellow! $2)
4. Blue patterned shirt ($3)
5. Awesome shoes ($5) (Light blue spray paint $2)
$14.50 (clothes) + $4 (spray paint) + $2 (dye)
$20.50 TOTAL!

1. Blue running jersey ($2)
2. Slidey windbreaker like pants haha (got a top and bottom windbreaker it was SWEET!! I will probably wear that thing snowboarding. It is awesome!! [$5]) (I cut the liner out of them and
3. Sparkly stretch sequin belt ($2) (spray painted pink)
4. Heels ($2) (spray painted pink)
5. A little kids rainbow sweater ($2) (I totally just cut off the arms of the kids sweater and sewed the edges and slipped them on my legs!)
$13 clothing + $2 spray paint
$15 TOTAL

Before we spray painted our shoes we filled them with plastic grocery bags.

The miracle of spray paint!

Barbie and ken end product! So fun!
